Improved Support for Apple & Google Platforms

Circle Platforms make it easy for families to manage popular apps like YouTube, Minecraft, and Spotify across their desktop, mobile, and even voice assistant versions. We’re happy to announce several great improvements to Platforms that have been bundled into release 1.4 — including improvements to tracking for Apple and Google services as well as AMP support. (Don’t worry, we’ll explain AMP if you haven’t heard of it!)

Apple Platforms

We’re rolling out Circle Platforms for Apple Music, Apple News, Siri, and the App Store. By creating Platforms for these popular services, Circle now lets you manage these popular Apple services with better tracking information, so you can make more informed decisions about your family’s time online!

Google Platforms

Platforms 1.4 adds to our existing Google Platforms with Drive, Gmail, and Search. These new Platforms create greater tracking accuracy for these popular Google services. Plus, if you leave a Drive document open, Circle can now tell the difference between idle and active time — so you won’t lose hours from your daily Time Limit to a Google Doc, unless that Doc is being actively edited.

AMP News Articles

Google’s “Accelerated Mobile Page” (AMP) service makes it possible to quickly and efficiently load news articles in a lightweight, data-friendly format. Now, Circle categorizes this time alongside all of your other news browsing. So, as your family stays informed with fresh news reporting, Circle will continue to keep everybody on track with your online time goals!

Usage & History Cleanup

We’ve been working hard to make improvements to Usage tracking and History. Now, you’ll can find more straightforward data when you check in on your family’s online time! App trackers, advertising services, and other irrelevant web traffic are being bundled by Circle with better accuracy than ever, so you won’t get bogged down with unnecessary details when you’re trying to manage your family’s time online.

Getting the new Platforms

The best news of all is that these new Platforms will show up on your Circle app right away — no update or maintenance required! The newly-supported Platforms will appear in Usage and History, and you can manage them from there.
