We’re taking CMX in a new direction where we will be completely community supported, so we can be completely community focused.

To do that, we’re launching a new paid membership program.

The team at CMX has launched and scaled many communities in our day. We’ve worked with community at companies like Udemy, Chegg, Facebook, Moz, Google, Zaarly and spend every day working with the 6000+ community pros in our network helping them launch and scale their communities. This is our bread and butter.

That said, EVERY community is different and will take a level of adaptability to get off the ground successfully. Usually, you only read posts looking back at a community launch, sharing what worked super well. It’s a picture perfect view, but it’s not reality. They skip over all the things they tried and messed up along the way. So we‘re sharing our experience launching the CMX membership AS we’re doing it. I admit, it’s a little scary, because we’re definitely going to mess a lot of things up. But that’s what will make this more valuable for those of you going through this process in the future. We want you to experience the process with us.

I will be blogging the experience every day over the next 2 weeks, and perhaps beyond if there’s still more to share after we launch this thing. Each day, I’ll focus on a different area of our launch strategy and experience.

To follow along, enter your email here.

Yes, that’s also our lead collection form for the pro membership. Transparently, we hope that in the course of sharing our experience launching this community, you’ll see how much we care about the work we do and you’ll decide to apply for membership when it opens up. If not, we’re happy to just share our journey and help you with yours because ultimately our goal is to help all community builders thrive.

If there are topics that you’d like to see us cover, or if you have feedback on how we can improve how we’re building this community, we’re all ears. Comment here and let us know.

Some of the topics we’ll be covering:

  1. Mapping out your community strategy
  2. Setting goals and success metrics for a new community
  3. Conducting market research for a new community
  4. Launching a “founding member” program
  5. Developing community member personas
  6. Our go-to market strategy for promoting the new community
  7. How to create a community MVP
  8. What the first days and weeks look like post launch
  9. How we’re welcoming new members
  10. Planning community content and programming
  11. Your ideas… comment and tell us what you want us to share from this experience

One more time, add your email here and we’ll send you a link to a new lesson each day. You’ll also be the first to know when the membership officially launches.
