Every week at Ibotta, a member of the tech team shares a slice of their knowledge with us at Ibotta’s Technology Lunch & Learn. Continuing education is a priority here, and this is a great way to cover topics and skills we might not have time for in the normal workday.

Last week, Principle Ben Limmer, showed the team how to upgrade our git skills to increase team cohesion, shore up our fundamental understanding, and generally learn some cool stuff about git. While we munched our lunches, Ben gave an engaging presentation with these objectives:

• Understand the two main schools of thought on commit history
• Understand the three GitHub PR merge options
• Understand common gotchas with rewriting history
• Master a new git command or two
