Q&A with Brais, Tray.io Full Stack Engineer

What’s something quirky about Tray.io?

As part of our front-end deployment process, we have a release manager rota. The quirky part is that some release managers like to have themed releases. From cakes, to Liam Neeson’s career, releases are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get!

How has the team supported your career growth?

We have a great “learn-by-doing” philosophy that has helped me grow as a professional since day one. In addition, the company is constantly changing (for the better) too. The processes when I joined as the 28th employee were completely different to the ones we have now with 200+ employees. In terms of career development, being part of that growth is priceless.
Furthermore, engineering managers are always happy to help engineers to change to another role if they want to. I have recently moved from Front-end to Full-stack development. That means more challenges and opportunities to learn!

What projects are you most excited about?

Obviously, I am going to talk about my little baby, the new embedded experience. It is crazy to see what you could do with embedded back then, when we were building the MVP, and what you can do now. And the funny things is… this is just the beginning! We have lots of new features in our road-map that will drastically increase the flexibility of the custom-branded integrations built within Tray.
Another project I am excited about is workspaces. Even though I’m not personally involved in its development, workspaces are going to make collaboration so easy that I just can’t wait to use them.
