Q&A with Jenny, Tray.io Product Manager

What is the vibe like on your team?

The Education squad is a small, collaborative and hardworking team. We came together at the end of last year with a vision to empower our users to more easily and independently derive value from our platform. We work on a range of projects — both inherited and greenfield resulting in some wide ranging challenges to overcome. Because of this, we have fostered a close and honest relationship with one another. No day is like the next but I would say always good vibes all around I would say!

How does the company support your career growth?

In so many ways it’s hard to know where to start or what to share. I definitely think that the key to a lot of our success hangs in the trust and collaborative ways in which we approach our challenges. There is never not a time where we have to approach a new complex problem — be that in the product or in a process and it is down to how we work together that has taught me the most since I began. Aside from the work itself, we are encouraged to look beyond the company at courses and literature that we think can facilitate our role — I myself have completed an Agile course which has been massively beneficial in the development of my role.

How have you grown since starting at Tray?

In more ways than I could imagine. I started off on a 6 month fixed-term contract working on a single project and now nearly 8 months in, I am Product Manager of Education here at Tray. Aside from the progression I have found in my role, I think that thanks to the people at Tray, I have learned to better communicate/ask for help when it’s needed.
