This was a super exciting month for us. We released Events, which opened up a whole new use case for Universe. We also have a big company announcement and a bunch of awesome product updates in the works that we’re not quite ready to share.

I’m going to use this as a chance to share how we think about archetypes at Universe. When you start creating a site, you choose what kind of site you want to build—an archetype: Personal, Business, or, now, Event. You can, of course, start with a blank canvas, but we’ve found that over 85% of folks begin with an archetype. It’s a really helpful way to get started.

We ask you a series of questions and, using your answers, generate a site for you. Each archetype has a unique set of questions, features, and filters to choose from. Selecting an archetype changes the entire process, not just the outcome so that it’s individualized for each type of customer.

Over time, we’ll expand our offering to include far more archetypes, to look something like this:
