It’s a fair question. There are plenty of other places to get your news. There are certainly many other ways of making connections and starting conversations online.

So why Worldview?

Well, we’re spending a lot of time online. It’s where we’re living more of our lives.

And our email providers and search engines now know us better than our own family. Our social media platforms might even know us better than we know ourselves.

So what’s the problem with that? Nothing really. Except our data is lost to us as soon as we create it. We’re not in control and we get nothing in return for all the value we create.

Facebook and Google together turned over $90 billion in revenue last year, all built on the personal data of their users.

Consider existing social media and networking platforms as an extractive industry. Like the resources sector, their business model is mining as much personal data from us as possible. This data is responsible for their multi billion dollar profits.

We could instead be doing so much more with our own data.

We could be, in private, learning about our own personality traits, about our views and beliefs and how they compare with the people around us.

We could be creating our own unique insights into the world, sharing them and starting meaningful conversations.

We could be influencing the outcomes of public debate on the major issues we face today with accurate and real-time stats on our collective views and beliefs.

A worldview is organic, growing and evolving as we change as people, and in response to the changing world around us.

With this data we could be embarking on a fascinating lifelong project of growing, testing, exploring and revising our views and beliefs. Our worldview.

This is our mission. To democratise personal data. Putting the creator of value, you the individual, back in control and enable you to do more with your own data.

This is why Worldview. It’s organic and empowering, not extractive.

Worldview lets our personal data complete its full lifecycle, returning full value to its creator, instead of getting captured by others for cash.

Join us on our mission. We’re only just getting started. It’ll be fun. Promise.
