The Buildpacks project is very sad to announce that Emily Casey, one of the most prolific contributors to our codebase, is stepping down from her role on the TOC and moving to the Emeritus team. Emily has been more than just a heavy hitting committer over the years. She’s also been an influential leader and passionate advocate in our community.

Emily is one of the founding members of Cloud Native Buildpacks. She helped establish our most important components, in particular the imgutil library. She played important roles in our effort to join the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, and mature into an Incubation. She has been unwavering in her devotion to excellence, raising the bar on every RFC and specification change. Her attention to detail in the CNB specification has helped us avoid miscommunication between members in the community.

Fun fact: Emily has deleted more lines of code from the Buildpacks project than she’s created.

Thank you Emily for your years of dedication to the project. So many of us have the pleasure of being beneficiaries of your hard work.
