Work with your favorite site editors and Funnelll will help you set them up to track customer actions and conversions, make the data instantly available to Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn so you can run Ad campaigns optimized to drive conversions e.g. sales instead of visits and views. Campaigns optimized for conversion can give 10X the ROI of un-optimized campaigns.

Squarespace Story: To Build a Better Website

Back in his dorm room at the University of Maryland, Anthony Casalena was growing frustrated while creating a personal website for himself. There were very few options for people who wanted to build their own websites without coding and those that did exist, like GeoCities and Blogger, deeply bothered him with their negligence to style and design. Casalena, a self-taught programmer decided to build one. In 2004, he founded Squarespace, was its only employee till 2006 (when it reached $1M in revenue) and the rest, as they say, is history.

Squarespace + Funnelll

Squarespace and Funnelll are a natural fit for startups and companies looking to build websites that acquire, engage and convert customers, all without having to write a single line of code. Funnelll reduces hours of coding required to add and maintain your marketing tools to a few clicks so you can run campaigns that are highly optimized for conversion e.g. sales, instead of driving traffic that doesn’t lead to sales.

Here are the features every website should consider enabling on Day 1:

Google Analytics and conversion tracking to track your customers journey and how they progress through your funnel giving you insights on how your marketing campaigns are performing and where to tune your funnel.

Facebook Pixel and event tracking to collect the data needed to create Facebook Ad campaigns to re-engage and convert customers who abandoned their journey through your funnel and to reach new customers with high potential to convert ( ‘lookalike’ audience to your converting customers).

Hotjar to collect qualitative data on your users experience through heat-maps and session recordings

Facebook Chat to allow customers to reach out and chat with your business directly from your website

Additionally, Funnelll can allow you to set up conversion tracking for your LinkedIn Ads, get slack notifications when users complete a certain action, to name a few.

Installing Funnelll on Squarespace— One time installation

  1. Go to https://www.funnelll.com , create a free trial account or login to your Funnelll account
  2. Add your Squarespace website onto your Funnelll account; click Create New Funnelll Site (or if this is your first site then this will be your starting page). Enter the name, description, logo and URL of your Squarespace website
  3. On the next screen, copy the code, and open your Squarespace site editor (make sure not to close the tab with the code though. You’ll need that again later)
  4. In Squarespace, click Settings > Advanced > Code Injection and paste the code from Funnelll into the field titled Header. Make sure you click Save before moving on to the next step.
  5. Back in the verify screen on Funnelll, click the green button that reads Re-verify Installation. The top right should say Successfully Installed. Click Done.

You are now ready to start setting up services (also known as Apps) from our catalog. Let’s install Google Analytics and setup a goal for tracking when customers click to watch a video on our Squarespace website.

  1. From the app/service catalog, swipe to turn on Google Analytics
  2. Click Link Account and login to your account linked to Google Analytics
  3. Select the Google Analytics Web Property that you want to use on your Squarespace website and click Finish
  4. Click on Track Conversions from the left hand side of the page. This will open a new window with your Squarespace site + a small Funnelll tab
  5. Choose a descriptive goal name e.g. Watch Video Tracking Goal. action e.g. Play-Intro, category e.g. Video, and Label e.g. Intro Video
  6. Click on the arrow (shown below) to select an element e.g. link on your page. The arrow disables your site navigation so you can select any element you want to track on your Squarespace website.

Hint: Click the arrow again in case you need to re-enable navigation and select a different page

7. Select the element to track on your Squarespace website. You can add more events by clicking the + button

8. Click Activate Goal

All customer clicks will now be tracked in Google Analytics as a conversion and is available in your reporting.

For example, in the Acquisition > Overview section of Google Analytics, you can select your newly created goal from the conversion drop down to see which channels (e.g. Referral, Paid Search, Social, etc.) are driving in customers who watch the video.

If you link your Google Analytics and Google Ads Accounts, this data will flow to Google Ads and you can see which campaign, Ad Groups, Ads, and keywords are driving conversions e.g. Video watches or, even better, sales. Conversions will also be available as an option to optimize your campaigns for so that Google can drive customers who are likely to perform conversion actions to your website.

Reached that far? You are awesome! Here is a little thank you. Mention the promo code SQUARESPACEWK9 to one of our chat reps on the website and get an extended 3 week free trial on Funnelll.
