In the genre of children’s movies, the 1995 film Jumanji has made a permanent place for itself. Almost every generation of children has seen the movie, and such was its acceptability that a cartoon show based on movie was made! And here are some of the unknown facts about this much-loved film.
1. Scarlett Johansson originally auditioned for the role of Judy, but eventually Kirsten Dunst got it
2. Jonathan Hyde, who played the evil poacher from Jumanji, also played the role of Alan’s dad
3. The word ‘jumanji’ is a Zulu word which means ‘many effects’
4. The film is based on a children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg that was published in 1981

5. The set of the Parrish house was ginormous
6. In the entire movie, no live animals were used. Everything was created with CGI
