The Best And Worst Character Endings On True Detective

True Detective is one of those peculiar shows where you never know how the characters might end up at the end. With each season being quite different from the previous one, it also leaves the audience to guess in the dark.
The thing is, if the ending is good, the audience is in for a treat, but just as so, the opposite is also very much possible. So let’s quickly take a look at the best and the worst character endings on this show.
1. Ray Velcoro
The sad detective died a horrible death, which was made all the more miserable by the recorded message he tried to send his son that failed to upload. But it is this misery that made the ending all the more human.
2. Frank Semyon
Semyon finally found his peace in death, after fighting others and his personal demons all his life. And it is in his death that the crook finds a place in our hearts.
3. Paul Woodrugh
When Woodrugh died while trying to save his allies, the audience knew that nobody was safe on this show.

4. Ani Bezzerides
Rachel McAdams’ Ani was equally tough and vulnerable throughout the season, and though she survived at the end, it perhaps left her a bit broken, and the audience a bit disappointed at her ending.
5. Jordan Semyon
Jordan was given little time at the end, and even less significance. Though we can only imagine the adventures she had with Ani afterwards, the show didn’t quite do justice to her at the end.
Let’s not forget Rust Cohle and Marty Hart, who were left staring at the sky, which was pretty disappointing both for the audience and the characters!
