Hail the furtive and the unseen; hail the secreted away, the precious and the shameful; hail the hidden and the mysterious; hail the loving cloth which covers these things and all things, eventually; — Hail, darkness.

There is a special grace which belongs to all that which shies away from recognition, which leaps out of sight when it is to be counted, named, or known. The grace of the deformed, the grace of the deplored, the grace of the despised and the despising.

Hail them all, and again I say — Hail darkness.
