This is a letter from Danny, 22, from Ohio, a coach and an adventurer, with a penchant for anything life-affirming and inspiring, here he comes …

I know what you’re thinking:

This can’t be me, how could I ever be a success.

But you’re wrong. I was once like you, unsuccessful and miserable, and trust me, you can become whatever you want to be.

Back in -09, I had a dead-end job, distributing newspapers, working as a waiter and flippin’ burgers on the weekends.

I mean sure, I paid my bills, I was doin’ okay, I had food on the table, friends, entertainment, a nice apartment and all.

I guess, but it wasn’t my dream, I always knew, yes, I always knew, that I had greatness within me, somewhere deep inside of me I knew that I was destined for success.

I decided that I had had it, it was time to step up my game, and I had a plan, simple, yet very powerful:

  1. Set goals, and
  2. Reach them

Now, you can’t just set goals, you need to decide, deep within your heart, that this will happen, knowing that it has already happened.

What you have to understand is that there is no maybe.

There is only definitely.

And if you don’t think that is realistic, then you need to make this your core belief, you need to accept this one basic truth:

Being realistic is the most commonly travelled road to mediocrity.

You may have knowledge, you may have brains, fancy clothes, and the best educations, but if there is no emotion, there’s no drive, no force, no zest.

So that you can be the best.

Emotion is what is necessary to keep you to your highest standards, and in the end to make you transcend your expectations.

Always remember, be the best, you’re better than the rest.

Best regards,

Danny
