Yet one more thing to worry about:

In lieu of punching out an angry tweet, will Donald Trump push the button for nuclear war? Maybe. Who knows? That’s the fear. For the world is suddenly subject to the whimsy of a man, now the most powerful on earth, who displays all the symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder.

In order to function as individuals and as a society, we must repress that fear. But here’s another (not so easily repressed) fear:

A Donald Trump Presidency will lead to nuclear proliferation around the world.

Take Germany, for example. Trump quite explicitly has promised to rethink NATO and its U.S.-guaranteed nuclear umbrella. So if you were Angela Merkel — now faced with a hostile Vladimir Putin and a Putin-friendly Trump — what would you do?

Germany ratified the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in 1975. But, as Trump has tweeted, treaties (such as the Climate Pact) are made to be broken.

While Trump tweets what was once “untweetable,” we must all now start seriously to think the unthinkable: the collapse of the 70-year postwar world order…and the concomitant, increased risk of nuclear holocaust.

The recent, terrorist-inflicted mass murder at the Berlin Christmas market is horrible enough. Trump might prove to be the ultimate horror: A Presidential terrorist plowing through the once stable world order.
