Inspiring! This Elementary School Teaches Kids Yoga And Meditation, And Now The Kids Won’t Shut Up About The Keto Diet
Wow! One elementary school in New York is teaching kids how to practice yoga and meditation, and the results have been astounding: the kids have turned into those annoying friends who pressure everyone around them to try the latest fad diet!
The Park Slope Montessori School in Brooklyn started a pilot program last year to teach students yoga and meditation for stress management. In addition to reduced rates of biting and throwing blocks, the school also reports higher instances of proselytizing the dubious health benefits of fad diets.
Ever since 5-year-old Hibiscus Gordon learned how to meditate, she’s been more patient with her 2-year-old brother. But she’s also been refusing juice boxes, saying, “Apple juice makes ketosis go bye-bye.”
8-year-old Barack Tanenbaum stopped having nightmares after he started doing sun salutations. He also began encouraging his family to complete regular juice cleanses, assuring them that, “Our bodies were designed for periods of feast and famine!”
Not everyone is thrilled with the program. “Our housekeeper is sick of making raw broccoli slaw,” one parent reports. “But I guess that’s the price you pay for inner peace, and a banging bod.”
