Life Sucks Sometimes, So Here’s A Decent List

I’m trying to balance my son’s bottle on my chin to feed him as I write this so bare with me. I am continuously at a battle with myself — and tonight I am feeling especially anxious and teetering on dreadful — so I am compiling a list of things that make life not so horrible.

I embrace times of bliss as well as times of growth, seen here.

Just reading (and in my case, typing) may bring someone to a brighter, more peaceful place. I hope that person is you.

  1. A baby’s smile, more specifically my son Tripp. (I’m biased, so sue me.)
  2. Little succulent plants. Cacti. Anything to make my living space more peaceful.
  3. A cup of coffee. All cups of coffee. The fact that coffee exists.
  4. My chihuahua Kitty, and the fact that if I didn’t visit the animal shelter that day she probably would have been adopted by someone else. Life works it’s magic in the little things.
  5. My torn up yoga mat that my cat Bobby used to use as a scratching post. It’s my lasting memory of that crazy guy.
  6. The fact that my cat and dog sleep next to me every single night.
  7. Funky string lighting and tapestries.
  8. My mom.
  9. My willingness to persevere through any challenge.
  10. My refusal to give up — including this list. Not too shabby.
