New Mexico to Pay for Border Wall

Insisting that something with the word “Mexico” pay for the border wall, the incoming Trump administration has turned to the state of New Mexico to finance construction.

“We can’t wait forever for real Mexico to do the right thing.” said President-elect Donald Trump. “So I began to think of alternatives and right there on the map was my answer. It’s funny that the word Mexico’s in the title.”

For her part, New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez, a Republican, stands ready to help. “We feel a little guilty, actually, since our state’s name may send the wrong message to Mexican people planning to enter the U.S. illegally. Perhaps they’re just making a grammatical error.”

The wall’s expected to cost at least $12 billion, much of which will come from the sale of Santa Fe snow globes.
