No, it’s not real. But it’s close:

Can this be true? Are people Following me simply because I do a little carping about the state of an expensively-constructed, free-to-me platform on which I can scribble away any old nonsense to my heart’s content?

Apparently, the answer is Yes:

That might have something to do with the Followership of the Publication that picked up my “story.” I may just have been in the right place at the right time, with the right offering. But what made that the right offering?

The next two of my top three, and indeed six of my top ten, are, in their different ways, stories about love, and everyone likes a bit of love (and now that I come to think of it, the letter to Ev was tagged love, because I had a spare tag. I’ll do that again). The other three are about politics, gin and getting away with murder. You may be able to see connections between some of those. But why is this one top?

I suspect it’s just that people like complaining, and like even more to see someone else complaining. And I can’t disappoint my public, can I?
