Think it’s a trick? Not when it’s turned into a delicious holiday treat that will have the whole family licking their lips.

Here’s a way to make good use of that rotten pulp from your Halloween pumpkin while treating all the tired Black Friday shoppers in your family to a wholesome day-after-Thanksgiving meal. And it doesn’t take a ton of prep time — only 12 minutes.

Here’s the recipe:

  • Remove leftover Thanksgiving Day casserole and turkey parts from refrigerator.
  • Fetch the decaying Halloween pumpkin from the front porch that you were too lazy to take in and dispose of a month ago
Wholesome Black Friday Goulash — just pick out the maggoty parts.
  • Scrape off some of that moldy, black stuff from the pumpkin pulp (be sure to leave just enough to add a subtle penicillin flavor)
  • Transfer all ingredients to a two-quart casserole pot
  • Add 1 1/2 cups of water
  • Let simmer at 300 degrees for 45 minutes
  • Pick out the maggoty parts or anything still moving
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Voila …Black Friday Goulash!
  • Now pile everyone into the car and head down to Popeye’s
