That Night / The Day After / When I Realized You Were The One
That Night
A 4 hour drive, 3 melted quarts of water ice, 2 people madly in love, 1 hotel room with a bottle of wine waiting. That’s what the night consisted of. Nothing fancy. The “hotel” was a cheap lounge off of the highway and the wine was bitter and weak but it didn’t matter. All she could see was him.
Him,on the sideline with her after her game the excitement twinkling behind both their eyes as they calmly talked about everything but the night ahead of them. Him, next to her in the car laughing and singing to music. Him, still next to her with his hand in hers guiding her through the city streets calming the panic within her. Him, now in the back explaining to his mom sitting next to her how her game went. Him, saying “we’ll be right back.” (not knowing how terrifying those mere 5 minutes were in the dark car alone were). Him, stroking her face from the backseat just to make sure she was calm after driving for so long, seeing the exhaustion in her eyes. Him, helping her take the tape off her fragile arm not wanting to hurt her more. Him, encouraging her while driving back to the hotel reminding her of how close she was to a happy night. Him , caressing her face with a kiss before she collapsed in exhaustion and took a shower.
Fast forward, homework’s done, showers taken, wines been opened and all the two can focus on is the look in their eyes. The smell of sex strong in the air, getting drunk off the taste of wine on their lips. Heavy breathing, muscles tense, small gasps coming from deep within them. The sweet ecstasy filling both their bodies but soon after sleepiness sets in. Whether its was the hard work or the wine both were soon ready for bed. Cold air blowing, warm blankets, and radiating body heat lulled them to sleep.
The Day After
Before they knew it the sun rose in the east coating the room ina warm golden glow, the TV still on from the night before. She was up first warming his body with her lips all over gently waking him up. He rolled over pulling her in close kissing her back and her neck. The kisses became just as passionate as the night before and soon they were up to their old tricks however something about this was different….between the messy hair, groggy eyes and the morning breath both were still captivates by each other’s presence. The air soon smelled like sex again as the girl smirks and sighs tapping out from pure exhaustion all over her body (reoccurring theme).
Next thing she knows there is something trickling down her leg and panic sets in. She sprints to the bathroom were her fears are confirmed and it takes everything in her not to sob out of utter embarrassment. Thank god for the warm water and back up supplies or else she might have. Still embarrassed about what has happened she heads to the car has they leave their overnight oasis.
When I Realized You Were The One
Wedding songs. Those are her favorite things to listen to. She likes to sit in her room headphones picturing her and her future husband dancing to each and every song. Bodies swaying back and forth matching the rhythm of the song. She feared to let him into this fantasy but in the long car ride back she let the walls down. Songs of love and marriage filled the car and she began to quietly sing growing in volume at each song….he soon joined in. There. That moment. That one right there that you just pictured is when she fell in love all over again. Every feeling flooded over her and all she could do was cry.
She dropped him at home and they both went about their normal days….and the secrets of the night before, the day after, and when I realized you were the one remained known only to them.
