Denial is the primary, most visible symptom of addiction.

Paitent: Last night I dreamt I had Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie in bed, and the three of us made love all night. Shrink: Obviously, you have a deep-seated desire to sleep with your mother. Paitent: What?! Neither of those women looks remotely like my mother. Shrink: Aha! A reaction formation! You’re obviously repressing your real desires.

I’m Kidding!!!

The addiction label-plasterers are the same as the Freudians, you can never win an argument with them.

I used the example in the photos above to illustrate this.

I don’t really care much if it is an addiction or not; the assertion moved me to quote one of my favorite books that uses jokes to help people understand philosophy. It’s brilliant.

PS. There is no end to Internet funny: Freudian sip, anyone? From the breast coffee mug ever:

$13.48?

Cheap at twice the price!

Freud’s cool, right?

“A Freudian slip is like saying one thing, but meaning your mother.”
