Unsavory #TrumpTapes and Manipulation in #PodestaEmails
I was active in the New York party scene in my early 20’s. There’s been countless times where unsolicited men would rub up on female friends and I would have to step in. Not every man is a sexual predator but some are and one of them might be President.
My party-going years introduced me to many people. I’ve lost touch with most largely due to the different directions our lives took but also because some had an unforgivable character trait: being a two-faced liar. We will all come across people like that in our lives but one of them might be President.
Those years taught me two things:
- nightclubs and bars attract unsavory people
- you have to cut ties with manipulative people
How we have one of each as the most likely candidates to become President of the United States is beyond me. This is the twilight zone of elections.
On Friday, October 7th, 2016 The Washington Post release a 2005 audio recording of Trump boasting about how being a celebrity allowed him to freely sexually assault women. On the same day, Wikileaks released a private speech that Hillary Clinton gave to big Wall St banks where she talked about the importance of having different public and private positions on policy.
Trump and Clinton are an embarrassment to America.
How can the rest of the world take either of these candidates seriously? How can any world leader be in the same room with Trump? How can any world leader trust what Clinton promises? They are non-starters as leaders of the free world.
The only bright side is that we still have the power to vote for someone other than Trump or Clinton. There are at least 4 other candidates: Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, Darrell Castle, and Evan McMullin.
Johnson has made the most news and is the most vetted. His biggest misstep is in not knowing that Aleppo is the name of a city in war-torn Syria. He understands the conflict in Syria but blanked on the city name. He admitted that he should have known it and took full responsibility. Johnson — like all of us — is not perfect but you can look him in the eyes and see that there is a decent human being looking back.
Johnson might not be the candidate for you and that’s why there are 3 others. The news will dismiss them but after the recent revelations how can anyone vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton? How can America have either one as President?
I have avoided unsavory and manipulative people since my 20’s and I am much better for it. I cannot vote for unsavory or manipulative. I will be voting Gary Johnson and Bill Weld for President and Vice President on November 8th.
