You might have noticed recently that we’ve been delivering content, in the first instance, in Discord. This is where the Bumper community began, and conversations in Discord helped us make some early decisions around the protocol.
We ventured out into Telegram when we started participating in AMAs while building awareness and raising funds. And we’ve seen excellent growth and activity in Telegram.
But, Discord still feels more like home and we’ve decided to make this our primary community channel. We feel quite strongly that Discord is the better platform to help us generate a higher quality and more useful community. The structure of Discord helps us be more intentional with our communications and also enables better interaction from community members.
Growing our community in Discord will help with:
- Reducing clutter from having all types of messages sent through one stream
- Identifying admins/moderators and team members
- Delivering content through voice channels
- Keeping communications clear through organised channels for specific topics
- Reducing bots and scammers through verification captcha systems
- Integrations into other Bumper channels and software
And much more.
