We live in a multi chain world. As great ecosystems emerge across chains, enabling users to take part in different chain ecosystems becomes a necessity and the key to that is an intuitive and smooth bridging experience. But the current state of bridging UX is broken, with users confused trying to navigate between chains!
How did we arrive here?
In a multi-chain world with multiple bridges & DEXs, there are multiple ‘routes’ that can be taken to move across chains. Say Alice has DAI on Arbitrum, but wants ETH on Polygon instead. Some routes she can take includes:
- Swap DAI ↔ ETH on 1Inch; 🌉 Bridge ETH Arbitrum → Polygon via Hop
- Swap DAI ↔ ETH on Paraswap; 🌉 Bridge ETH Arbitrum → Polygon via Connext
- 🌉 Bridge DAI Arbitrum → Polygon via Hyphen; Swap DAI ↔ ETH on Uniswap
- 🌉 Bridge DAI Arbitrum → Polygon via Anyswap; Swap DAI ↔ ETH on Sushiswap
Selecting the best route is insanely hard! Each route comes with a different journey time (bridging time), toll cost (bridging cost), fuel cost (GAS) & risk (security), and these can change with time!
