We interviewed them to share their success formula with you. Meet Christiaan, a Co-Founder of The Liberators.

Christiaan, what is your business about?

We unleash organizational superpowers in teams and organizations all over the world by helping them get rid of old-fashioned and dehumanizing ways of working. We do this through workshops, events and training — mostly related to Agile, Scrum and Liberating Structures.

Although we are a 2-person company, we build networks of people from people all over the world, who are passionate about our mission and who help us do this. We work with many different organizations, such as KPN, Swisscom, SimCorp, the Netherlands Academy for Arts & Sciences, LEGO, TomTom, and the Dutch Police. Hundreds of people follow our classes, workshops, and events each year.

Why did you choose to open a business account at bunq?

The mission of bunq appealed to us. We like how it is a technology-driven organization that rapidly iterates new features and technologies. Very Agile :)

What is your favorite bunq Business feature? Why?

For our business, the API mostly. But the incredible user-friendliness of the app is certainly important to us as well.

That’s an unusual, but beautiful point of view! How does using our API help your business?

We’ve built our own connector between Bunq and Exact to synchronize transactions in aid of our bookkeeping. We also make automatic reservations for VAT and other taxes to a separate account on bunq. Finally, we synchronize account balances to our management dashboards.

How was your overall experience integrating with bunq?

We integrated in early 2019. And since one of us is an experienced developer, we wrote the codebase for this ourselves. We used the C# SDK. It took only 15 minutes to get it to work, which was awesome.

The whole list of developments took us between 2 and 3 days to finish. The connector with Exact was the most difficult, mostly due to the documentation of their API. It was really easy to get the data from bunq.

Are you using your bunq Business account with any tools or systems apart from bookkeeping software?

We use it with Exact primarily for our bookkeeping. For making VAT reservations, we have connected bunq with Harvest — our invoicing platform. Finally, we use Cyfe for reporting from the various platforms we use for our business (about 20–25).

What specific results have you seen from using bunq and our API for your business?

As a 2-person company aiming to make a worldwide impact, we need automation to allow us to focus on generating value for our customers. bunq’s API helped us reduce our time spent on tedious administration as well as keeping a close eye on our financials.
