We help all types of individuals and companies tackle everything from web & app development, to social media & content creation. All of our clients are unique and require their own mix of services so because of this, we’ve split our services into two monthly subscription plans — innovative businesses & creators. In this post, we’ll be covering our creators subscription!

How we help creators

Have you ever wondered where to start? How do you make your passion your career?

If you’re a creator, whether you’re a visual artist, youtuber, musician, photographer, filmmaker, or writer— you’re a creative individual that’s great at what you do! But the one thing you might need help with is running a business and turning your passion into a source of income.

Build a strong web presence

For most creators this starts with a website — a central hub for communication between your work and your audience. Establishing a strong web presence that’s reflective of your personality and work is the first step to growing awareness and building your business.

→CloudCannon

To do this, we build simple & inexpensive websites using platforms like CloudCannon. Cloudcannon allows us to build eye-catching websites that are easy for you to edit on your own. This way you can improve your website as inspiration strikes, which will keep your website up-to-date & reflective of your newest work.

→ Buffer

The next step is getting eyes on your cool new website. With millions of websites though, this is a tricky task. We help by training you on how to better manage your social media channels. It’s important to post regularly and analyze which posts yield the most engagement — we use web apps like Buffer to do this.

Buffer is a new and smarter way to share what you want to share on social media. It acts as your social media assistant, organizing and scheduling your posts. Your updates will be added to your Buffer queue and it will be posted for you & spaced out over the day — and at the best times! This way you can add content as it’s created and it will be shared at the optimal times.

This helps creators reach their audience when they’re most active online. It also allows creators to get a better understanding of who’s engaging with their posts so they can better communicate with their followers.

Selling your work & making money

Once your web presence is established, it’s time to start making money!

Gotta get that money!

As an artist you have a service and a product. You can be commissioned to make things and you have products you can sell. There are several ways to market both your services and products using emerging online marketplaces and here at Buoy Ventures, we help you do that! Here’s a few of the popular marketplaces we’re helping our clients use to sell their work!

  1. Etsy
  2. Amazon Handmade
  3. Bonanza
  4. Big Cartel
  5. Art Fire
  6. DaWanda

These online marketplaces allow you to handle payment through the website but what happens when you preform a service for someone?

Easy invoicing & payment

How do you get paid for your work? Well there are a lot of options out there but currently we recommend a great invoicing & accounting software called Wave. Wave provides a suite of financial services and online software for small businesses and it works perfectly for artists and creators! Here’s a quick video explaining automatic payments & invoicing by Wave.

Easy invoicing for easy payment…everyone wins!

Our goal

There are hundreds of new apps and technologies being developed every day and we take pride in our ability to find the perfect mix to promote your work and grow your audience. Our goal is always to save you money and provide new opportunities and revenue streams to make your passion your career.

So far we’ve helped photographers, musicians, visual artists, authors, bloggers & vloggers utilize online marketplaces & advertising to support themselves on their rise to stardom. So if you’re the next Casey Neistat, or woodworking legend Nick Offerman (aka Ron Swanson), send us a message and we will help!
