There is no shortage of software, browser extensions & plugins to record your computer screen. Out of all of them, I currently recommend using Nimbus Capture.

If you ever find yourself needing to capture a screenshot or make a quick video, install the Nimbus Capture browser extension (here’s a link for chrome, and firefox).

It is simple to use and has the features you need— I promise it will help you communicate with your team and share information. Take a look below for some of the reasons it’s my favorite…

It’s free! 🤑

Yep, that’s right — most likely it’s free for everything you will need to do.

Nimbus does offer a ‘pro’ plan, but that’s only useful if you use the more advanced features, like uploading it to their proprietary cloud (instead of google drive, or saving locally).

It has the features you need ☑️

Many screen capturing tools, especially in your browser, don’t have enough options when it comes to making it quick to capture a screenshot on any webpage. Plus, most don’t have the functionality to mark it up and save it like Nimbus Capture.

For example: the ‘capture selection’, the ‘selected & scroll’, and the ‘entire page’ options all actually work! You don’t need to waste time cropping after the fact, or stitching together multiple screenshots.

Did I mention it also has amazing markup tools? You can add drawings, highlights, shapes, text, stamps, etc — all after-the-fact! There’s even a very handy ‘undo’ function that I use often because I’m not very good at drawing.

It records video very well 📹

With Nimbus I’m able to quickly record videos of my browser or desktop so I can send those videos to anyone. It’s amazing how much time I can save recording a quick video to explain, or demo something. I use it all the time when interacting with support folks, or relaying information to clients and team members.

I usually record the video and then upload it to Google Drive. This way, I’m able to share a link with my team. Plus, once I’ve shared it to Google Drive, I’m able to embed the screen recording just like a youtube video! So regardless of how you want to use or share it, Nimbus makes it incredibly easy and helpful.

It has Slack integration 💬

My team uses Slack to communicate so this feature is really important — with Slack integration, it’s quick to send screenshots to team members. Sometimes we even use it for quick bug reporting for development projects because it can send system info.

Since we all have it installed by default in our Chrome, this is our go-to tool for this sort of thing. If you work with a team in a similar way, I highly suggest you use this screen capturing tool. It will save you a ton of time!

I could write many more reasons why this is my favorite tool for screen capturing & recording, but you should just try it for yourself. I’ve gone through dozens of these, and this one has stuck. Below you will find a link to download it and try it with you team today!

As always, thanks for reading! 😎
