Gunshots at Night While Camping
How my wisdom assisted me during it all.
Hello, dear readers!
You read this correctly: Our weekend camping adventure became even more adventurous around 11 p.m. when all hell broke loose.
Three different rounds of bullets were being fired nearby, and the echoing only intensified the noise. This has never occurred in the last three years of our camping escapades, but it did this weekend.
When asked, I immediately told the children, “It’s okay; just go to sleep. It will all be over soon.” I asked my husband to turn off our lamp because I felt more secure not letting anyone at that point know we were there, just in case.
I pulled out the revolver that I love, for it is always ready to use, and asked my husband to cock his pistol and have it ready just in case. I then used my wisdom and took action. I said a prayer and asked my guides for assistance to help ease the anxiety my husband was slowly beginning to feel.
I quickly asked him to be silent and breathe, for I needed to concentrate on assessing the situation so that fear wouldn’t interfere with my judgment or the necessary course of action.
