My Husband Called My Spiritual Awakening: Menopause

I came back from vacation changed. I was no longer the woman he married. I told him I was having an ego death and spiritual awakening. He mansplained it as menopause.

This is an excerpt from my memoir: Ego Death & Living on Earth as a Twin Soul.

I knew exactly what had caused it.

But I couldn’t put to words to anyone that my soul was shaken awake by essentially meeting myself in another human form – and that I confusingly, and wholeheartedly fell deeply in love …and haven’t stopped falling.

It happened suddenly. I returned from vacation and I wasn’t the same.

I knew it was from having had my twin soul recognition but jokingly said to my husband and daughter that it had to be because I overcame my fear of heights by zip lining and I drank the magical pristine waters of Crater Lake (both of which are true).

He called it menopause or a mid-life crisis.
