You know we all take ourselves seriously – even when we don’t. Futility wouldn’t be nearly so damn painful if we didn’t and there is nothing in the world wrong with caring about who we are and why our life should matter – so don’t ever feel the need to diminish your sense of your own worth. You’re right to care about your writing that much, just as long as it’s not because it’s about a muchness of in love-ness with an ideal of oneself. That’s a given suckerpunch for self delusion.
