What is 2 Factor Authentication?
2 Factor Authentication is an extra level of security that is used to ensure that you are who you say you are. If you are trying to access a page that is encrypted with 2FA, you must go through at least two levels of security verification to gain access. For example, an online account that requires a password and username will not immediately give you access as soon as you try to login if it is protected by 2FA.
There are three categories of 2FA:
- Personal Identification Number (PIN), password or keystroke pattern.
- Smartphone or hardware token.
- Biometric fingerprint pattern, iris scan or voice print.
One of the easiest ways for you to activate 2FA is for you to install a 3rd party authenticator app such as Google Authenticator. Using the Google Authenticator app is quite easy.
- Download the 3rd party app. (Get it here)
- On the online app you want to secure, activate/enable 2FA. This is usually found under “Security”.
- A secret code will be shown to you which you are to use on the 2FA app. Enter the account name of your choice and paste the code which you copied.
- Add.
- On your online app, continue.
So you have nothing to worry about concerning the safety of your personal effects. A third-party can only have access to your online application if they have your smartphone/device which contains your authenticator app.
How to get it started with enabling 2-FA on the Busha app:
1. Install the 3rd party authenticator app
2. Tap the “Enable 2FA” button on your app.
3. Copy the recovery code (Best to save this code somewhere safe.)
4. Open the authenticator app. Add a new account and paste the code.
5. On your Busha app, click “Continue” and enter the 6-digit code that was sent to you.
Now every time you log in to your Busha app, you will be required to enter the 6-digit code generated by the authenticator. Also, you have no fears about anyone else having access to your Busha wallet even if they have your username and password (which they shouldn’t have in the first place).
Remember that you would need your phone (that contains your authenticator app) every time you log in to use the app.
