The Warriors’ Awakening Puzzle
The window for submitting guesses has ended. The mint date for the Bushidos is October 22nd, 2021.
It’s late into the night when a cold wind blows through each of the Bushido Guild’s temples. The children rustle in their beds to the sound of dogs barking in the distance. Somewhere, in woods outside of a Guild village, wolves howl. Those unlucky enough to be awake feel a tingling on their necks; a sense that they are not alone.
In each Guild’s temple, the monks are awakened by a phantom sound. “It could have been a whisper,” they think. “Or maybe just the sound of leaves blown against the shoji door.” But the sound echoes in their ears with the words:
When in doubt, the samurai start with their Principles…
In the temple of each Guild, spread across the world, the monks rise from their beds. Without words, they enter their temples’ Main Halls to find a surprising sight. Small pieces of paper, wet with rain and stuck to the doors. Each brightly-colored page holds a letter. The colors look familiar, but why? Above the doors, 16 pages hang. Each bearing a number — 8 numbers on each side of the door.
The monks spend the night pouring over historical tomes and scrolls searching for clues as to what the mysterious event might hold. Finally, in the dusty pages of a long-forgotten prophesy, a reference to a Warriors’ Awakening is found. The passage contains familiar words: “When in doubt, the samurai start with their Principles…”
The monks need your help.
After days and nights of trying, the monks are unable to discover the answer to the mysterious puzzle. When is the Warriors’ Awakening? The monks assemble the wisest minds in each of the Guild villages and ask them to join in the quest.
