Customer education and swift updates

Educate prospective and current customers on all of the steps you are taking to ensure their safety. Be proactive with updates. For customers with upcoming trips, reach out and ensure them their safety and health are your top priority. Now more than ever it’s important for customers to know you are there and thinking about them.

Beef up your sales pipeline

If you get an inbound quote request, quote it. Even if it’s for a future date that you currently don’t have availability for. Having these types of customers in your charter sales pipeline when cancellations happen is crucial to ensure the health of your business. Do you have a list of quotes you’ve given out, but haven’t followed up on? Now’s the time to tap into your pipeline of prospective customers and get them booking.

Worried about or already receiving cancellation requests?

Work hard to rebook them for a different time for no additional charge. Another thing to consider for prospective customers is offering flexible bookings? This aligns you with travelers and considers their fears by giving them the optionality to change their trip dates. It also brings cash immediately in the door that can be leveraged to help navigate this trying time. Having steady work in place and meeting the changing needs of your customers will pay dividends when things settle down and will help support a healthy business.

What resources are out there that can be leveraged?

The American Bus Association and UMA have done a great job supporting operators and have been vigilant in updating their COVID-19 resources:

  1. ABA resources can be accessed here.
  2. UMA resources can be accessed here.

Please let the team at Busie know if we can help support in any way! We realize it might be difficult to think past today, but also remain confident that collectively we will bounce back from this stronger than ever.
