What is Embedded Analytics and How It Works?
Delivering just-in-time business insights
The goal of business analytics is to provide useful insights from data to decision-makers. As with any solution, its value is not in its elegance and sophistication, but in how it’s used.
The true value is value added: was a businessperson able to make a better decision or optimize their business activities owing to the business insights delivered through an analytics solution?
The value of business analytics depends on the timeliness of having the insight.
There are different styles of analytics solutions:
- Standardized reports
- Dashboards
- Data discovery and visualization
- Ad-hoc analysis
- Predictive models
They differ in how the insights are generated, presented and delivered to the users.
The key aspect here is whether the user has to go somewhere in search of insights, or whether the insights are delivered to them at the right place and at the right time.
