Beyonic API Updates

We wanted to quickly share a couple of updates with you. All the new features below are backward compatible, so you won’t need to change your API version in order to use them. They should all work with v2 of the Beyonic API.

Account balance

You can now access your accounts via the API. This allows you to check your account balance, among other things. More information here.

Custom fields

The metadata API has been extended to support custom fields. Metadata allows you to add functionality to your account by storing key-value pairs against payments and contacts.

Custom fields are like any other metadata, except that they can also be accessed and updated via the web interface. For example, you might want to add a “National Id” field to the contact form, or add a “Budget Code” field to the payments form. Previously, metadata was only available via the API.

Custom fields are supported for contacts and payments only. In the future, they will be extended to other record types as well.

For now, while we roll out this feature, you have to request us to add custom fields to your account.

More information about custom fields here.

New client libraries

We have release new python, PHP and Ruby clients. Grab the latest libraries here.

Coming soon:

1) Transaction history: we shall soon enable access to full transaction history via the API, to allow you to run your own analytics against your data

2) Dedicated name verification API: we shall soon have a dedicated API for name and number verification.

PS: Remember that Beyonic is able to connect to Salesforce, Quickbooks Online, Slack, Expensify, Xero and many more enterprise applications. Get in touch and we’ll be happy to show you how.
