Beyonic is joining MFS Africa.

During these tumultuous and uncertain times, even a little good news goes a long way. Today, we have great news to share: We’re excited to announce that Beyonic has been acquired by MFS Africa!

MFS Africa operates Africa’s largest digital payments hub, connecting more than 200 million mobile wallets on the continent. We, at Beyonic, deliver multi-country business tools for secure domestic disbursements and collections. Through this partnership, we will provide our customers with an impressive new set of capabilities and extend cross border digital payments to SMEs throughout Africa. The combined company will continue connecting businesses to mobile transaction networks and banks in over 35 countries in Africa and 60 globally.

This partnership didn’t happen overnight. Beyonic and MFS Africa have cheered each other on for the past seven years. During this time, the companies have grown to become respected and trusted digital payment brands, thought leaders, and pioneers.

It isn’t often that one finds the sort of alignment of vision and culture that exists between Beyonic and MFS Africa. As multi-cultural, pan-African payments companies, we celebrate inclusiveness and diversity, and our businesses, by their nature, build bridges. When I started Beyonic, our goal was to move “business beyond cash” and be at the helm of Africa’s digital renaissance. Today, this goal still aligns perfectly with MFS Africa’s mission to make borders matter less for payments.

At Beyonic, we’ve always prided ourselves on our ability to think differently, and to push the limits of what’s possible — whether it was instant recipient verification, automated fees top-ups or by pioneering open payment APIs in East Africa. We don’t intend to stop. Beyonic remains fully committed to our customer’s success, and I’m personally excited that I will be focusing on expanding our shared products for many years to come.

We look forward to hearing your feedback, and you can read the MFS Africa press release here.

Please reach out here if you have any questions.

A personal note:

I intend to share more about Beyonic’s and my journey over the past few years. But don’t feel you need to wait to connect with me — I love meeting those who are helping move the industry forward: investors, entrepreneurs, regulators, humanitarian organizations, and dreamers. If you’d like to connect, please reach out via LinkedIn or at luke-at-beyonic.com.

I look forward to learning about you and your work.
