Instant Payment Notification (IPN) Hub transitioned from GSMA to Beyonic — Effective May 2020

The IPN Hub was developed by the GSMA in combination with donor partners (UK Department for International Development (DFID) and MasterCard Foundation), to provide a single point of integration between mobile money networks and PAYG service providers in Sub-Saharan Africa, accelerating reliable access to utility services at the last mile.

Following the successful piloting and scaling of the IPN Hub, the GSMA elected to transition it to an entity that would continue to scale it sustainability. After a rigorous selection process, the GSMA is delighted to announce that Beyonic has been selected as the IPN Hub successor entity. From May 1, 2020, Beyonic shall be responsible for all ongoing operational aspects of the IPN Hub including future growth.

Built in Africa, for Africa, Beyonic Inc. provides simple, two way digital payments management business solutions on 26 mobile money networks and >20 banks in 9 countries from a single sign-on. Since 2013, Beyonic has worked to make managing last-mile digital payments in emerging markets easy, freeing organizations to focus on making their businesses and communities thrive. Beyonic is eager to bring this wealth of experience to ensuring the seamless ongoing provision and future growth of the IPN Hub.

From 1 May 2020–30 April 2021, current IPN Hub users will enjoy the following:

  • Uninterrupted service
  • No charges
  • IPN Hub business as usual: same support, same product, same reliable results
  • No changes to existing service agreements

Beyonic’s IPN Hub product manager will engage current users’ feedback to develop a sector-appropriate and sustainable pricing structure for the product. This new pricing will apply to new IPN Hub users from 1 November 2020, and to existing users from 1 May 2021.

New IPN Hub users will continue to be on-boarded to the IPN Hub at an introductory rate of $200 per month, available through 31 October 2020.

Beyonic is working closely with the GSMA to ensure a smooth transition of the IPN Hub operation, and looks forward to formally engaging each and every IPN Hub service provider to get to know and support you going forward.
