Mastering the Art of Self-Introduction in Interviews
Job interviews can be nerve-wracking, but they also provide an opportunity to showcase your skills, experience, and personality. A well-crafted self-introduction can set the tone for the entire interview and help you stand out from the competition. 1. Start with a Smile and Firm Handshake (in-person) / confident posture (virtual)
Your self-introduction begins before you even utter a word. When you enter the room, greet your interviewers with a warm smile and a confident, firm handshake. This non-verbal introduction sets the stage for a positive interaction. Make eye contact to convey your confidence and enthusiasm.
2. State Your Name and Professional Title
The first words out of your mouth should be your name and professional title. For example, “Hello, I’m [Your Name], and I’m a [Your Professional Title] with experience in [Your Field].” This clear and concise introduction immediately tells the interviewers who you are and what you do.
3. Provide a Brief Overview of Your Background
