I’m really sorry for not finishing my part of the team project.

It’s not an excuse, but I’ve been under the weather for a week now.

In hindsight, I should have worked on it and completed it ahead of time, so as to avoiding your having to work all night.

To make up for this slight, I have got you a Starbucks coffee and a brownie as my heartfelt apology.
