The Story behind the humble beginning of Shodai: the Online Grocery Startup in Bangladesh
Remember that little girl called Oshin, which used to be aired in BTV (the abbreviation for Bangladesh Television). For those who were not lucky enough to watch the 80s Japanese Drama Serial, needs a bit more of a background. It was the story of a little girl called Oshin and how she started life with a very humble beginning with a lot of hardship, with all the ups and downs of World War II and ended up starting a business for her survival, and how it grew to become a growing business. The story had all the bits and pieces of simplicities and complexities on the life of Oshin in it.
The Inspiration
Oshin came from a struggling family, torn by the hardships, eventually fell in love with a young boy, had a son, and his husband then left him for his peculiar eccentric views in life. Oshin with his young son, started working as a helping hand in a family, who helped her start a business in selling fish. She used to go early in the morning during the auction of the fishes and she used to sell it in the neighborhood. Soon, her business started booming due to her reasonable price, amicable relationship, commitment to her customers and her business started booming into not only fish but in the whole grocery area eventually creating a chain of shops.
