Opening a New Branch in China
Introduction:
This report aims to analyze the opening of a new branch in Hong Kong.
Findings:
Firstly, seventy of the top one hundred banks have their branches in Hong Kong. This is due to Hong Kong’s strong foreign reserves that can prevent a currency crisis from happening, and their tax policy favors foreign investors. Secondly, it is also a chance to expand our bank’s presence in China. However, there are a large number of competitors in Hong Kong which could hamper our expansion plans.
Recommendations:
In order to solve the problem above mentioned, we would have to build a good relationship with the local government and domestic enterprises; hire local talent to help with the cultural differences and also reinvent our financial strategies for the region.
Conclusion:
It is believed that opening a branch in Hong Kong might be profitable to our business.
