This report aims to show the climate changes in two countries, Greenland and Alaska, and the reasons for the changes.

Greenland

Between 1920 and 1960, the average temperature in Greenland dramatically rose from -30C to -26C because of the increase in carbon dioxide emissions. Between 1960 and 1980, the average temperature in Greenland remained at similar levels due to economic stagnation. The average temperature has gone up by 3C to -23C since 1980 due to the booming manufacturing industry, which led to rising sea levels.

Alaska

Between 1920 and 1960, the average temperature in Alaska fluctuated between -26C and -20C. From 1960 to 1990, the average temperature reached a peak of nearly -17C that had broken the record in the last 100 years. Owing to global warming, the average temperature has risen continuously since 1990.

To sum up, it is predicted that the dramatic temperature changes in Alaska and Greenland have directly impacted both the wildlife and industries.
