Dumping Gatorade on 100 Million People
by C.J. Adams
Snapchat. I’ve been harping about it for the past month.
A lot of you have continued to say that it’s still just for teeny boppers and sending naked pics.
Well, you’re officially wrong. Snapchat is here to stay in a major way.
During the Super Bowl, Snapchat had a lens that allowed users to take snaps of a Gatorade cooler being dumped on their heads aka a Gatrade shower. Those snaps were viewed more than 100 million times.
100 million.
Sure, this wasn’t cheap for Gatorade, as sponsored lenses cost $500k on weekdays and $750k on holidays, but a Super Bowl ad costs $5 million. I will guarantee that Gatorade got more value out of the sponsored lens on Snapchat than any company got out out of regular Super Bowl ad.
This is where the attention is, folks. This is where your customers are. And, if they aren’t there yet, they will be in 6–12 months, so you better be ready. Now is your chance to prepare and knock it out of the park once they get there because they’re coming.
