Moderation is for Cowards

My favorite holiday, Independence Day, is a mere two days away.

Why do I love that day so much? Because I freaking love America. It’s the greatest country on Earth. We may have our issues and problems, but one fact remains:

We have the privilege of calling ourselves Americans.

Anyway, I was looking for Independence Day related quotes (you would know this if you read yesterday’s post) and came across this awesome quote from Shane Patton:

Shane is one of the SEALs profiled in Marcus Luttrell’s book, Lone Survivor, who was killed in action.

This quote reminded me that you have to go full force into something if you truly believe in it.

If it’s worth spending 8 hours on, it’s worth spending 20 hours on. If it’s worth sacrificing a night with the guys at the bar, it’s worth sacrificing that night EVERY week.

Those who want it bad enough, will do anything to make it happen, whatever it is.

If it’s not worth that initial sacrifice, if you can’t make yourself take the first step, it’s not worth going full force into it.

Thank you to the men and women who fight EVERY SINGLE DAY to protect our freedom, allowing us the privilege to call ourselves Americans. When you’re celebrating on Independence Day this weekend, drinking Bud Light, grilling hot dogs, and watching fireworks, take a minute to think about the soldiers who allow that to happen.
