SIT DOWN, BE HUMBLE

Now that I have your attention. One of the hardest things for me to learn on my road to entrepreneurship is to be HUMBLE and most importantly:

Being young and told you are a genius and that you will be great, can make you think you have arrived before your time. Having a vision and goal is the first step, but you still need steps to accomplish said goal.

5 Things I Am Sure Of

  1. You have to find the RIGHT mentors. Often times, people will come to you under the guise of wanting to be your mentor, but in actuality they see you as an opportunity for their own personal advancement.
  2. Try to align yourself with individuals that choose to add worth and not just take from you as you build your own platform.
  3. Work on making yourself so invaluable that they have no choice but to pay you your worth. Most people see cost instead of value which are two different things.
  4. Seek out apprenticeships instead of internships. They are around and available when you look in the right places. Even your peers who may have a more established heading can offer you apprenticeship opportunities which could lead to greater opportunities in the future.
  5. Learn the BUSINESS of being a creative.
