A few weeks in photos
Well, suffice it to say that Natchitoches, Louisiana, was not supposed to be one of the stops on our Greek cruise.
Yet, here is where we found ourselves on the day we were supposed to embarking.
We had landed in Athens, Greece, slept a few hours at the airport hotel, flown to Crete to see our friend, Steve, who had retired there, woken up and gone to see the ruins of Rethymno. We had just returned for the afternoon when we got the phone call that my husband’s sweet sister had died, completely unexpectedly.
We had just been to see her a month before and she had been tired and was getting iron infusions, but nobody had any idea that she was as sick as she was. We found out about a week before we left that she had an acute and aggressive form of leukemia. She went into the hospital the day before we left and was transferred to the bigger hospital in Shreveport.
