Spooktacular ways to celebrate Halloween with your pup
Prepare to eat, drink, and be scary!
As Halloween tiptoes a little closer, it’s time to crawl to the ‘bark side’ and step up the spooky spirit. At Butternut Box, we’re creeping it real by sharing the fang-tastic ways pet-parents can celebrate with their fur-ocious friends.
1. Dress them up
Dogs can be fun to cuddle, pet, and play with. But everyone knows, the real advantage of having a pooch is being able to dress them up in outlandish outfits for Howl-o-ween. Whether it be a hotdog, pug-kin or Barking Bad character; the possibilities of ingenious costumes are endless. (To really earn that round of appaws, co-ordinate with one another and achieve the greatest #squadghouls of all time).
2. Take them to a Pumpkin Patch
Go on a memorable adventure this Halloween, by taking your pooch to a pet-friendly pumpkin patch. Wander amongst the orangey goodness, before picking out the pawfect pumpkin to take home and carve.
3. Attend a fabulous Party
Get the pawty started this year, by attending a glamorous and ghoulish get-together with your pup, or take the lead yourself and host the ultimate Halloween celebration. Invite all of your dog’s closest canine friends and go mutts with treats, tunes and decorations.
4. Tell ghost stories around the campfire
Create an excitable fright night by exchanging terrifying ‘tails’. Settle around an outdoor campfire with your dog, and let the spooky stories commence. Don’t be afraid if your pooch is stuck for words; perhaps they prefer to listen.
5. Watch a scary film together
Dim the lights and enjoy an evening of frightening fun. Snuggle under the duvet and press play on a hair-raising thriller as you wolf down a bowl of Butternut Box pupcorn.
6. Go Trick or Treating
Why not take your pup on a small quest in the search of some mouth-watering sweeties. Everyone loves dogs, so getting yours to perform their best trick will be sure to get you that toffee apple you’ve always dreamed of. Trick or Treat? Why did no one ever think of Trick AND Treat. It’s the best of both worlds.
