Here Are The Best Bits, Forget The Rest

What’s the point? All the best bits were in the trailer.
I feel like this a lot of the time, and I know that I am not the only one. I wasn’t a great fan of the last Star Wars movie, but the trailer really made me want to see it — why? Because there was some mystery there; some compelling imagery; and it created questions in me that only watching the movie would answer.
There have been some movies that were so over-hyped that I avoided them for a long time, and I think I enjoyed them more because I worked hard not to know anything about them.
Back in the day in England this was never a problem because you had to wait for ages to see something, and half the time it really didn’t seem like it opened at any theaters at all.
Most people market like those terrible trailers that give you all the key points of the movie — everything up front. You don’t even need to come and meet me to know my shoe size and my inside leg; I’ll even throw in my family history for you. All up front opens up the chances of making a a misstep that an in-person meeting might avoid.

The content of a website does not need to be comprehensive if it is what you are using to generate leads and interest — it needs just enough to get the audience wanting more.
This probably seems counter-intuitive to some people. I have heard people say of a movie — why would I go and see it if I don’t know what it’s about? They are the same kind of people who ask questions throughout the whole movie rather than watching the thing. I would respond to them — why would I go and watch a new movie I know all about? If I catch a spoiler I may have to wait for a while until I have forgotten what I heard. it’s a process of discovery — I want to go on that journey for myself. I tend to read reviews after
