Less than a year after the alpha release of our API Platform, we are introducing the fully fledged version, with an entirely new user interface, improved UX and a selection of paid plans to cater for any production needs of our users. Like the alpha release before it, but on an entirely different scale, BLAST delivers on our promises of reliability and performance, while increasing the flexibility and usefulness of our platform.

Building from the offering available on app.bwarelabs.com, we are proudly presenting BLAST: blastapi.io, a redesigned, rebranded application, that enables users to select from 3 predefined subscription plans:

  • Free includes 12 Million requests/month, limited at 25 RPS. Can support up to 10 websocket connections per endpoint.
  • Developer includes 18 Million requests/month, limited at 50 RPS. Can support up to 20 websocket connections per endpoint.
  • Startup includes 45 Million requests/month, limited at 100 RPS. Can support up to 100 websocket connections per Endpoint

Moreover, enterprise-level users, whose needs are not covered by our standard plans, can opt for customized services, tailored to their specific needs. To find out more and get a personalized offer, reach out to us through the Custom Plan section.

In order to keep the space well-organized and enable users to separate their environments, but also to support the development of programming libraries, we have introduced the concept of Projects. Inside each project users will be able to generate one API endpoint for each of our supported networks while the number of projects that can be created on each account will vary depending on the type of subscription plan.

Charts displaying usage statistics are also available in this version, for each account, giving our users the possibility to monitor, plan and adapt their subscriptions according to their needs, thus ensuring that they will not be caught off-guard when it’s time to scale up but also that they will not overpay unnecessarily for infrastructure.

We have also integrated a playground space, where users can easily test their generated endpoints before using them inside their applications. The playground will enable users to experiment with method parameters and verify the responses in order to ease the development process.

All payments inside BLAST are done in stable coin (USDT), to streamline integration with the crypto ecosystem, while maintaining a predictable value for infrastructure costs. Users can easily add funds to their accounts from their Metamask wallets, which will already need to be connected to the platform as it serves for authentication/authorization when creating or connecting to an account. Subscription plans can be acquired for any desired period and can be extended or changed at all times. The payment transactions are performed on Polygon, to leverage their speed and low fees.

Fun fact

The name BLAST came from our community, it stands for Bware Labs API Service Terminal.

Next Steps

We are working to build the decentralization aspect of our platform which will culminate with an incentivized testnet phase, where node-runners will be onboarded into our platform. As we explore and validate all the facets of operating on a decentralized infrastructure, targeting performance and reliability, the testnet participants will receive rewards which they can later use to create staking pools and increase their node revenue aside from the payments received for fulfilling requests. Once we are satisfied with the outcome of the testnet, we will proceed with decentralizing the infrastructure of the platform. Once the decentralization is complete, node providers joining our platform will receive rewards from the subscription fees, on the condition that they meet our standards for latency, uptime and data integrity, enforced through our integrity protocol. To increase their revenues, the node owners will have the possibility to create staking pools where they and other token holders can stake BWR tokens and receive rewards.
