What is Elrond API?

Elrond API is a set of APIs on the Elrond network that provides access to historical data. In conjunction with the Gateway API, which covers interacting with the blockchain, they make up the two layers of the Elrond API. Both are restful APIs, so utilizing it should be fairly familiar for developers.
